The Lakeland Runner's club meets at 6:30 pm Tuesdays for speedwork at the Lakeland High School track.
Thursdays--tempo runs with The Pack starting at 5:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian on Lake Hollingsworth. Hill workouts with the Lakeland Runner's Club start at 6 p.m. at the parking lot of Branscomb Auditorium (on Johnson Street) at Florida Southern College.
FITNiche sponsors a Pub Run beginning at 6:15 on Tuesday at Red Door Wine Market across from the Polk Museum of Art.
Saturday's long run starts at Mitchell's Coffee House on Kentucky Avenue with several distances and paces. The run starts at 6 a.m.
Tuesdays--This is where the A-riders strut their stuff! Meet at Bent's Cycling and Fitness at 5:30 p.m. to ride out to the WellDyne Building on Swindell and County Line Road. Or you can meet the group at the parking lot at 6 p.m. for a hard ride of 24-36 miles.
Thursdays--Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the A-riders head south from Bent's Cycling and the B-riders head west to County Line and Swindell for the Tuesday Night's route. This ride is much more social.
There is also a beginner's ride starting at the WellDyne building at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Saturdays--ride 30-35 miles (average flat road pace 19-24 mph) to Hillsborough County and back. Ride starts at 7:30 at the Southgate Shopping Center.
Sundays--ride 40+ miles (strong pace) at 7:30 a.m. starting at the Pix on 540A.
Leroy's Bikeworks, Bent's Cycling, and other bike shops also hold several rides out of their stores. Check their websites for details.

The Ironman 70.3 Florida is located in Polk County in Haines City. Here's the bike route.
One of the best (and scenic) rides is the San Antonio ride. There's a 40-mile course and a 60-mile course. Both have some nice hills.
If you like flat roads, head to the Withlacoochie Trail. It's 45 miles one-way with bathroom, water, and food stops along the way.
Swim at the Gandy Pool at Kelly Recreation Center on Imperial Boulevard in south Lakeland. Guest passes are $3 per visit or $40 for 20 visits. ***JAN 2016 UPDATE**CURRENTLY GANDY POOL IS CLOSED FOR RESEALING.
The YMCA on Cleveland Heights has a master's group Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:30 a.m.
